The film debates just that, the whole planet is full of garbage (mostly from BnL, a massive corporation that practically run the earth) and the people decided to leave on a space cruise for 5 years until the robots like Wall-E clean up the land. There are just some “minor problems”, the 5 year crew took longer and it ended up with 700 years in space doing nothing, because the ship was self sustained. In all that time the earth became a barren land and but the robots continued their work and one of them developed a mind of his own, he is the main character, the voice played by Ben Burtt. You will follow his adventures in his quests to complete his “Directive”.
I find myself bringing only praise to the Director and the Writers for such a splendid movie that has everything, from comedy to romance and also a good lesson to learn, and those are rare qualities that you cannot find in animations these days, probably that’s why it was voted the best animation of the year. I strongly recommend this movie to all class of ages, you won’t regret it!
